News: Theater Resources Unlimited Presents Live Town Hall, Barely Visible: Native American Theater Artists, on June 27th

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU), a nonprofit organization and the leading network for developing theater professionals, has announced Barely Visible: Native American Theater Artists, a live town hall on June 27, 2024. The town hall will be co-hosted by actor-writer Shaun Taylor Corbett, a mixed-race artist of Amskapi Pikunni (Blackfeet), Scandinavian, and Black heritage and a member of the Kaa Nux Im mii Taaks (Blackfoot Crazy Dog Society); Danielle Jagelski (Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, Red Cliff Band of Ojibwe), a composer, music director and creative producer; John Scott Richardson (enrolled Haliwa-Saponi (Tutelo)/Tuscarora lineage), actor, public speaker and cultural educator; Julia Keefe (Nez Perce), internationally acclaimed actor, recording artist, educator, jazz singer and band leader for the Julia Keefe Indigenous Big Band. News: Theater Resources Unlimited Announces Two Virtual World Premiere Readings

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU)  has announced the first virtual presentation of its 2020 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series, presented with generous support from The Storyline Project . The series, a benefit for Theater Resources Unlimited to help make up for financial losses due to COVID-19, will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 2:30pm EDT and on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 2:30pm EDT. Information and ticketing can be found here .  The series will comprise world premiere readings of two timely and resonant plays: No Entry ,   by Marc Paykuss, which follows Jews who were displaced after being liberated from Nazi camps and placed in interim detention camps, and Disbelief , a Cassandra Tale ,   by Garret Jon Groenveld, which uses the Cassandra legend to catalog the struggle of women being believed and having their voices heard. News: TRU to Hold "Sexual Harassment Education and Prevention for Theater" Panel and Discussion on May 23

"IMG_4212" by GGAADD is licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0 Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) , the leading network for developing theater professionals, will present the panel discussion "It Doesn't Have to Be #MeToo: Sexual Harassment Education and Prevention for Theater" on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 7:30 pm (networking begins at 7pm) at St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street, Manhattan, NYC). The theater has its own #MeToo stories from both women and men, and artists will share stories of harassment and misconduct, followed by a presentation recognizing and fighting harassment, after which a panel of representatives from Dramatists Guild, ART-New York, and the Actors Fund will share what they are doing to empower their members and prevent harassment, misconduct, or assault in the theatrical workspace. The event, presented in association with the  League of Professional Theatre Women , will be facilitated by Yvette Heyliger, with confirmed speakers Jenna C...
