Co-founders David and Edward Einhorn On Sunday January 26, at 5pm, Untitled Theater Company will celebrate 30 years of production! Founded by David and Edward Einhorn in 1995, the theater company has produced over 50 shows, festivals such at the Václav Havel Festival and the Ionesco Festival, and many other readings and special events. Untitled Theater Company No. 61 (UTC61) is a Theater of Ideas: scientific, political, philosophical, and above all theatrical. UTC61 has been performing independent theater in New York for over 25 years and  will be awarding this year's David A Einhorn Playwriting Prize, established in David Einhorn's memory in 2022 for a playwright over 30 with a history of self-production, to Daniel Damiano. The New York City Fringe Festival (formally the FRIGID Fringe Festival), a proud member of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF) and the United States Association of Fringe Festivals (USAFF), is an open, lottery-based theater festival that gives artists an opportunity to let their ingenuity thrive in an environment that values freedom of expression and artistic determination. In true support of the Indie Theater Community, 100% of box office proceeds go directly to the artists whose work is being presented. Since the 2023 In Scena! Italian Theater Festival opened on May 1, it has presented audiences across the city's five boroughs with family history and candy fantasy, explorations of trauma and feel-good comedy, and more than one rap. To close out this successful two weeks of events, the festival finishes its NY leg on Tuesday, May 16th, with an award ceremony and reading for the 2023 Mario Fratti Award. This closing night will take place, beginning at 6 pm, at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York (686 Park Ave, Manhattan, NYC), and, as with the rest of In Scena! 2023, admission is free.  The 2023 Mario Fratti Award will be awarded to playwright Andrea Scrimàli for his play L’attesa , which deals with love, seen through the many reflections of generational conflict. Photo provided by Emily Owens PR The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison and Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been leading the gender parity conversation and championing women in the professional theater for over 35 years, is pleased to bestow their inaugural Rachel Crothers Leadership Award to Donna Walker-Kuhne, founder and CEO of Walker Communications. The award will be presented at the LPTW Leadership Luncheon on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 12-3 pm at Sardi’s Restaurant (234 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036). The award is named for playwright and director Rachel Crothers, who led seven other professional theater women in organizing members of the theatrical community in supporting the American war effort in 1917, a time when women could not even vote. Crothers was a founder of The American Theater Wing and its Stage Door Canteen, and she one play per season produced on Broadway over a 30-year span....
